Vancouver, Los Angeles, and the Magic 8 Ball

[Postgame update below.]

Consulting our imaginary Magic 8 Ball again, here are the things we’re convinced will happen tonight:

Sean Avery will take a penalty.
Matt Cooke will really piss someone off.
Jarkko Ruutu will really piss someone off.

So, okay. We didn’t really need magic for those predictions. Now, here is what we hope will happen tonight:

Markus Naslund will score a goal.
Ryan Kesler will score a goal.
Daniel Sedin will score a goal. Or two.
Canucks will win 4-2.

If we’re right about all those predictions, we’ll seem like psychics.
Finally, here is the Kings’ Fan Quote of the Day (just to make us feel better about ourselves):

The Kings Are Nothing More Than a Gigantic Disappointment

They’re like the girlfriend you just can’t get rid of. The sex is great, but then you have to put up with the rest… but the sex is worth it. Or is it?

[…]

I love the Kings. I love hockey. But this bitch is starting to wear on my nerves. I guess it’s too late for a divorce. In California, if you’e married for 10 years or more, you owe alimony for life.

I guess I’m just going to have to be disappointed for the rest of my life.

At least I’m not a Toronto fan. They must be suicidal up there.
Does anybody have any good cheese for my whine?

Post-Game Update: Vancouver’s 7-4 Circus of the Stars

“Welcome to the show, ladies and gentlemen. For tonight’s performance, playing the parts of Markus Naslund, Kris Draper and Tyson Nash all-rolled-into-one, we introduce you to Alexandre Burrows!”

We’ve lavished praise on Burrows numerous times on this blog. How sweet it is to see him put on a 3-hour show.

And, oh yeah, the win was great, too. The 8 Ball does not disappoint!
