Hands Off Jim Hughson
Chicago Tribune hockey writer Bob Foltman wants Canucks’ play-by-play man Jim Hughson for his own city:
Chicago fans deserve to listen to someone such as Jim Hughson on a nightly basis. Viewers of Wednesday’s San Jose-Edmonton game on OLN were treated to the CBC feed of the game, called by Hughson and former Hawk netminder Greg Millen.Hughson is part of CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada broadcasting crew—usually handling the second game of the Saturday doubleheader on the West Coast. He’s also the primary TV announcer for the Vancouver Canucks. His knowledge and crisp, passionate and intelligent description of games have him at the top of the list among broadcasters in the NHL.
Hands off our Hughson, Foltman! You can have Greg Millen though. You’d probably be doing Jim a favour…;-)

Actually Chicago’s coverage is very good. Pat Foley considered one of the best in the business (he did the centre ice video games!) and Troy Murray is a very good colour guy. They have been good for years suffering through all those dull blackhawk years.
Greg Millen ugh.. stating the obvious. How many times last night did you hear “That’s the biggest save of the game, that could be a factor!” Of course it is you dolt, it’s OVERTIME!

Foley is great. The problem isn’t him, it’s the way that team is run.
And about your other point… Greg Millen: Master of the Obvious!

Yeah, but what did Jim Hughson do to deserve working out of Chicago?
Pat Foley deserves to work with a team that has an owner that might actually care about putting something useful out on the ice. Anyone out there have an NHL team whose radio announce is retiring?
Barring that, are there any more Searle heiresses looking for a husband?

Laurie, Laurie, Laurie… not to change the subject, but if there are any heirs or heiresses looking to get hitched, I’m the only one to talk to.
Canadian law is flexible on this, and Jeff will probably get over it.
