The Acid Queen takes some shots at the Carolina Hurricanes anthem singer today, and suggests Canadians shouldn’t be optimistic about her performances next year. But she has an interesting suggestion involving another singer:
I still think it’d be a fun kick in the ass to have him sing the anthem(s) Barry White style instead of Holly “What’s a meter and why should I have to stay on it?” Wilver.
O Canada (can you dig it?)
Our home and native land (right on, baby)
It’d be great! The fans would eat it right up!
Speaking for all Canadians, I approve. Honestly, it’s long overdue. Barry White Does Canada could practically be a touring show.

I’ve given you some attention on my own blog in hopes that some of my other readers come over and check your site out.

I’ve also added this to my blogroll - I don’t know why I’ve waited this long. Probably I’ve just counted Jes’ source for Vancouver hockey news and really didn’t need another one.
Anyway… keep up the good work.

“We want the funk…gotta have that funk! OH! We want the funk!”
Oh crap…that was George Clinton and P-Funk, not Barry White.
But still, it would be awesome to see Barry White (or a soundalike…unfortunately regarding Barry White, he’s dead, Jim.) do both national anthems, AND with Bootsy Collins on bass. The bass guitar is a far more versatile instrument than many realize…
