I am…

Back in Canada on Thursday.
Back to reading all the hockey news on Friday.
Back to posting on VCOE on Saturday or Sunday.
Back to posting at Kukla’s Korner on Monday or Tuesday.
Back to being really freakin’ brilliant by next Wednesday.
Back to being dead wrong about something by next Thursday.
Back to drinking by next Friday.

So everything will be back to normal! It’ll be good to get back to hockey.

P.S. I discovered I’m allergic to beer on this vacation. This is doubly-tragic because I was making a valliant effort to taste-test all the microbreweries of the American West Coast when everything went horribly wrong.

Life is so unfair.

You’re lucky. I usually go straight to dead wrong and skip the freakin’ brilliant stage entirely.

No, I’m not “lucky” so much as I am an “optimist”. I’m sure I’ll blow it in some big way by Monday. ;-)

I’m pretty far out of the loop when it comes to hockey news right now, to be honest. How the hell does California support THREE teams and get ZERO hockey news in the mainstream? I’ve been watching for it, and there’s nothing you can find unless you really look for it.

I’m starting to think that the internet is the southern American hockey fan’s only salvation. Geez… I’ve got to be nicer to those poor fans.

Life might be unfair, but take consolation in your season countdown clock. Check it out! Less than 2 weeks now!

    cheers,
    Mike

    Try living in China…

    Thank God for torrents!

  5. Temujin Says:

Back to saying “Yo Luongo” by next Saturday?

    Darn Skippy!

Allergic to beer? Now, that’s tragic!

  7. Vancouver Canucks Op Ed Says:

Mike – That clock was depressing for so long… but now, finally, it’s getting exciting. 12 Days, 7 Hours, 25 Minutes!

GZ Expat – This is embarassing, but I don’t even know what “torrents” are. I assume they’re a means of transferring large video files? You’d better explain it to me, since the next time I’m in the southern U.S. I might be desperate enough to look for them!

Temujin – Yo! Luongo! I know it annoys some people so I’ve decided to limit myself to saying it 5 times a week. Since I post about 15-20 times/week, I think that’s fair… plus I really like it. (Some people need to cut me some slack here, dammit.)

nuts4pucks – It is tragic. I might need therapy. :-)

    Welcome back! :D

I started drinking when the pre-season started. Poor liver.

  9. Vancouver Canucks Op Ed Says:

Thanks Isabella. Good to be back.

I don’t recommend allowing any alcohol in your home during the pre-season — it can only lead to a 12-step program. Maybe save that risk for the regular season!

  10. Ritch Says:

    Dang-

    allergic to beer?

I’m almost just like that, except with me, it’s “allergic to no-beer.”

In some circles, they call it “alcoholic.”

It’s like baby colic, but with more booze.

    Welcome home!

  11. Vancouver Canucks Op Ed Says:

Thanks, Ricch! And yeah, the beer thing sucks. But I’ll rally — I’ll rebuild my alcohol interests on wine! Strange combination with a hockey game, but I’ll make it work…;)
